Our Organisation
The South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS) services rural and remote communities across a vast stretch of South Western Queensland, including the towns and areas of Charleville, St George and Roma.
SWHHS employs many nurse practitioners, medical specialists and allied health staff across various clinical speciality areas, including renal, heart failure, cardiac, emergency, maternal, child health and palliative care. Our Waroona Multipurpose Centre is a 45-bed residential aged care facility in Charleville with two room types, to cover residents with different need levels. We provide communal activities in our vibrant common room, eating areas, and cozy sitting areas. Our residents enjoy our well-maintained gardens with seating and BBQ areas.
All of our rooms are single rooms with ensuite or shared bathrooms, and feature wardrobes, air conditioning, and garden views. We provide low and high-level care, including palliative care, 24-hour nursing care, allied health, and our regular recreational activities.

The Opportunity
SWHHS now has opportunities for Registered Nurses to join our staff at our Waroona Multipurpose Centre in Charleville. Having recently undergone a change in leadership and culture, our Waroona Centre has doubled its star rating in just six months and is ready to expand to its full capacity!
This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated and supportive team that is part of a larger network, passionate about providing care to our elderly. Our diverse team represents the diverse background of our residents, and we work in a collaborative, multicultural environment where everyone is valued.
As an RN, you will work five days a week across a seven-day roster across our morning, afternoon, and overnight shifts, from 7:00am - 3:30pm, 2:30pm - 11:00pm, and 10:45pm - 7:15am, respectively. You will receive one RDO per month, and we have opportunities for part-time and flexible arrangements on a needs basis. We want to make sure you’re able to have the work-life balance you need!
Duties will include:
- Delivering client-focused personal and clinical care
- Assisting with rehabilitation exercises, primary treatment and providing medications
- Maintaining accurate and detailed care recipient records
- Supervising AINs and ENs
- Respecting the resident's room and contributing to a positive team culture

As one of our RNs, you will receive an attractive salary circa $76,755 - $103,053, negotiable dependent on experience, plus 12.75% super and great benefits!

About You

You will have:
- A minimum Bachelor’s of Nursing degree or higher
- Current Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration
- Minimum 2+ year’s experience in nursing (preferably in aged care)
- Up-to-date MMR, chicken pox, whooping cough, hepatitis B, and influenza vaccinations
- Have or be eligible to obtain an NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
